In March 1992, the 36th session o the Commission on the Status of Women decided to hold, at the Chinese government’s invitation, the 4th World Conference on Women in Beijing from 4th to 15th September 1995. “Action for Equality, Development and Peace” was set as the Conference theme. The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications issued a set of four stamps and the People’s Bank of China put into circulation a nickel coin, for commemoration of the Conference. China National Philatelie Corporation released one commemorative coin cover.
